There are many other amazing woodcut artists out there! Here are a few of my favorites, as well as links to other things I enjoy.
Nick Wrobleski. In March 2012, I took a 3-day class on woodcut prints taught by Nick at the North House Folk School in Grand Marais, MN. I knew nothing about woodcuts before this. This is where my love for them and exploration with the process began. Nick is located in Viroqua, WI.
Betsy Bowen. Another great Midwestern woodcut artist. Located in Grand Marais, MN.
Tugboat Printshop. This husband-wife woodcut team makes some amazingly detailed prints. Located in Pittsburgh, PA.
Tom Killian. His prints are typically of the Bay Area and Marin County. Located in Point Reyes, CA, north of San Francisco.
The North House Folk School. If only I had the time to take all of their classes they offer!
McClain’s Printmaking Supplies. Great supplies, great business, and very helpful folks working there.
YMCA Camp Widjiwagan. I spent many years growing up attending this camp, and worked here as a Trail Guide for a couple of years. The memories and wilderness experiences from “Widji” have greatly influenced the type of person I am today.
